Crowns And Bridges
A dental crown, also known as a cap, is a tooth-shaped cover that is placed over a damaged or decayed tooth to protect it and restore its appearance and function. Crowns are typically made of porcelain or ceramic materials, but may also be made of metal or a combination of materials. Crowns are often used to restore teeth that have been weakened by large fillings, root canal treatment, or trauma.
A dental bridge is a dental restoration that is used to replace one or more missing teeth. A bridge is made up of two or more crowns that are attached to neighboring teeth, with a false tooth or teeth in between. The false tooth or teeth are called pontics and can be made of porcelain, ceramic, or other materials. Bridges are a more permanent solution to tooth loss compared to removable dentures.
